Skating By

For this project we were asked to create a skateboard design and then color it in with markers.  Ms. Martin told us about this project on a Thursday, and that night I went home and sketched a mini skateboard design in my sketchbook, because since the minute she had told us about the project I knew exactly what I wanted to do.  I have a really bad obsession with the Grateful Dead, especially their infamous skeletons and roses! (I own two vintage t shirts and now an old vinyl with that design)  Anywhoo although this design took me forever to complete with all of its crazy details, in the end it was totally worth it.  I sketched the whole thing first while eyeballing every last detail, and then went over everything in PrismaColor Markers.  I used grey to create some shading on the skeleton's head but for the most part stuck to my color scheme of my favorite colors, blue and pink!
My art was one of very few skateboard designs from school that got taken to the art show, definitely an unforgettable experience.  Attached is the address you can find other pictures of the show at:

So here is to you Grateful Dead!  You have been the best muse I could ever asked for!!!

Icons ' R ' Us

For this project Ms. Martin asked us to draw six different icons in boxes in order to create in the end our icon.  I choose six of my favorite designs, a modern rose, a heart with love in it, my signature paisley design, a lotus flower, the outlines of a monarch butterfly, and a Koi fish.  All of these were hand drawn by me, and then just simply outlined in sharpie to give them a sharp finish! Enjoy!

DREAM ROOM!!!!!

Sooo I think just by this picture you can tell that I am obsessed with flowers.  This project was based on creating a one point perspective room of anything yo want, and I created my dream room!  With a glass bottom floor with a Koi pond under it and cherry blossom grafitti on my wall.  Plus I took a risk by creating another room under mine!  My own personal library!!!This detailed picture truly exemplifies my ocd when it comes to detail in art, and hey it seems to work in my favor :)  This is one of the most beautiful sketches/drawings that I have ever drawn, and I wish I lived in here!  Too bad it isn't in real life... it's only paper drawn with sketching pencils!

Kate Bosworth Portrait

For this project I choose to use a simple picture of Kate Bosworth that accentuated the difference in the color of her eyes.  Once again I only used shading pencils and my paper to create my art work.  This time I was really successful with my shading.  I accomplished leaving no part of the picture white and instead creating a full value of shading! Sorry for the distorted picture, much prettier in real life than in picture :P like me.....
